I will be meeting with a professional money manager soon. I explained that I offer comprehensive financial planning and it would compliment their offering to their clients which his purely investment. My question to you is is it a good idea?, What should I share with them? The 5 critical reports? The three meeting process? The 143 item checklist? Anything else? It is not a cold call, I know them personally and professionally.

What's the purpose of the meeting?

The only reasons to meet with a money manager are:

1. To do their FRM as a prospective client. Is this a referral or self referral?

2. To vet as a potential SME. If this is the case, follow the process that Mark teaches.

Your question appears to indicate that you are approaching the Money Manager to gain access to their clients. That is not part of our model.

If my assumption is incorrect, follow the appropriate process based on 1 or 2 above.

b Should the implementation of a clients plan be done in a single Implementation Meeting or should it be done over several meetings as to not overwhelm the client with information? Currently my dealer has developed something called the total client experience which calls for meeting with the client 5 times in total. Here is an overview of the meetings; 1-introductory meeting,2-portfolio management meeting,3-risk management,4-banking relationship review,4-tax/estate planning, and 5-progress review meetings. I like how it breaks everything down. The things that I have changed based on what I have learned here already are; replacing the initial meeting with the Financial Road Map Interview™ and getting rid of everything like useless fact finders that ask the same thing over and over and leading (probing) questions. I am just not sure what you would advise on the number of meetings to implement.
b How do I implement corporate assets into a clients Financial Road Map®? I have a client that has retained earnings in her business that I also manage. How does this work into the Financial Road Map®? How would I work with them as an Ideal Client? This client earns over $300k per year and she draws 120k out as her salary per year. Her husband is not a shareholder in this business and she prefers to keep personal and business separate. Would I do a Success Road Map® for her business instead?
b Should I use a flat fee?
b Recently I have completed due diligence and purchase of a direct property investment with one of my ideal clients. Following this transaction I have had a subsequent meeting with the investment administrator and he has given me a lead to another of his investors who, the investment administrator indicated, seemed to be a bit unsure and could possibly benefit from professional advice. To be clear this was not a referral, in sales school/language it was a lead, given as a way to encourage me to show more clients his investment options. I have completed some research on this lead and he is definitely someone that I want to talk to and have him and his wife in for a Financial Road Map® Interview. How do I make the initial contact with this potential client without coming across as a salesperson following up on a lead? I am considering a letter introducing myself and my business, followed by a phone call, however I am concerned that this will be dismissed as just another sales pitch.
b What do I say when a person says, "What makes you different from other people that do this?"
